Good read for both christians and non-christians..and the halfway theres..

Wei Ye came over my hse today to learn guitar. Amusing, but i taught him anyways. Looking at him play reminds me of myself when i was just starting out on the instrument 5 yrs ago. All that struggling with the fingerings, the pain in the fingers, the buzzing on the strings. Haha. Funny stuff. Shld have videotaped it down.

Anyways, been getting quite a bit of flak for my MSN nick. Yea, i put "Warped Christian Thinkings" since yesterday, and a few of my Christian friends kinda asked me what's with my nick.

Before u guys decide to group up and burn me on a cross, lemme tell u why. Story goes like this:

My uncle from Msia is a pastor. And he stayed over at my hse for the past 2 days. So yesterday while i was in my room using the com, he sat beside me and started preaching.

Personally i'm not anti-christ ok. Neither do i hate it when pple preach to me. It's just time-consuming. I've got better things to do. Yea anyways so out of respect, i just listened to what he has to say, and meanwhile MSN-ing with some of my friends.

K here's the warped part. While preaching he tends to drag in other religions and slams them like no tomorrow, and tt irks me totally. I mean u can believe in ur own God, but u dun have to slam other religions right. It's just not right to me. I dunno how u guys feel abt it, but tt's the major factor to why i dislike the whole Christian idea.

Here's some little excerpts from his speech which i find it hard to rationalize too:

1. "U cannot see God, but he's everywhere. Just like air, u cannot see it. But u need it to live. U feel it. That's the same for God. U cannot see him. But it doesnt mean he does not exist"

2. "Because he's everywhere, he's different from all the other Guan Yins and Buddhas. Y? Cos they are just figurines! They cannot be everywhere. They are forever stationary unless u move them. And THAT makes them not omnipotent. So God is better cos he can be everywhere."

3. "Satan is jealous of God, cos he gets worshipped by people whereas Satan has no followers. So Satan uses trickery to deceive mankind. How does he do that? He hides himself in those Guan Yin and Buddha statues, making people believe they are praying to God. But they are actually not."

4. "Other religions have something called enlightenment. But it's so hard to attain! U have to do good deeds, eat veg or whatever, to get a chance only! And even still u might not attain enlightenment. But, with God's membership, it's easy. Just believe in him and you will go to heaven."

Seriously this is enuff for me. So he's telling me half of the world is actually worshipping Satan? OMG. So half of us are going hell definitely baby. And tt last part, seriously this God allows a Brazilian drug lord to go to heaven, and let a monk burn in hell? Tt's so flawed.

What's worse, it's all coming out from my uncle. A pastor. I can't believe what his followers are thinking.

And the amusing part is, at the end of the conversation, he advises me to go to church with Shirui. And then he thinks really hard, and said,"Go to the church in Queenstown. There's 3 of them. Go to the one named Fisherman's Church (or smthing like tt)".

So the inquisitive me naturally asked,"What's wrong with the other 2?"

He claims tt only the Fisherman's Church tells the Truth. They teach closer to the Bible.

Ok, so in my mind, i'm like... so what about the rest of the churches in Singapore? What are they teaching? Half-truth? 1/4 truth? Or *gasp* Lies? And...what if actually he's the one who's been fooled by Satan all these while? *stunned*

So who's telling the Truth now?

I really think i'm gonna get flamed big time for this. But it's not gonna convince me if these questions are not answered well. And point to note: I used to go church last time with my grandma, tho i'm too young to understand a single thing on what's happening inside. Just filler crowd man. After she died i never stepped into a church anymore.

Forgive me if anyone of ur is offended. But seriously if our friendship is gonna be so superficial then i guess we shan't be friends anymore.

This is the morning shocker tt i got when opened my email...

WTF? Some company wants to feature one of my song in their compilation CD?! Wah either i'm dreaming or wot man. Yea but it's true. It's the real deal, though i've never heard of HLB Entertainment before. Cos the email's sent through Soundclick. Which means they've heard the songs there, and are kinda "impressed" with some of our stuff.

Hey before u guys congratulate me for finally making it or smthing, lemme tell u smthing. I'm dun really think it's gonna happen. Here's why:

1. I believe the company is based in the US. And we're in Singapore. Unless they really think the current songs are "CD-quality", we'd definitely need to re-record. Dun really think they are gonna fly us there to record our music right. And it's just 1 song. Think abt it. Not gonna happen.
2. Yea like Kai said, might be just a sham after all (tho i dun think tt way)
3. I replied them already. But they havent gotten back to me. Maybe they are not interested anymore? Probably.
4. One thing tt concerns me is the ownership of the music. Probably they just want our song, but NOT US playing it. Yea u get what i mean? Maybe they'd find some band to play our song or smthing man. Tt bugs me. My music is mine.
5. Of course who can miss out royalties man. If the deal pulls thru i highly doubt we'll get paid la. But ain't it a lose-win situation?

Wei Ye says it's good publicity. But in the US?! Like we are ever gonna make it big and fly over there and hold a concert and ask all our groupies "HAVE U GOTTEN THE HOT LIVE BANDS COMPILATION?!?! IT'S GOT US INSIDE!! SO GET IT AT THE BOOTH BEHIND UR SORRY ASSES!"

Not gonna happen.

BUT (yea there's a big but) I definitely happy to see tt at least there's some form of GENUINE appreciation of my music. Which is good. This gives me motivation to improve. At least i'm heading in the right direction, wherever i'm heading that is.

Had a big argument last night with Tele Boy abt the whole band thingy. So it seems like i'm taking it too seriously already. So sorry all my groupies. There will not be any concerts for ur to come and mosh in the near future, or maybe it's never gonna happen. Yea we are just gonna be a bedroom band and forever be one.

So be it then.

So ultimately i'm just a no-lifer. Fair enuff.

Hurhur, wot do u want me to write man seriously? There's nothing much tt's going on in WC-land these few days.

Rock On Singapore, was just... ok lor. Good bands, but crap audience. Nothing much to review actually. U have to be there to see it for urself.

Been going on a few late night runs, but stopped yesterday night cos it rained. And it seems like tonight is gonna rain too. And i'm feeling alittle sick. So there goes my "strict" training regime.

Guitar, er wot do u wanna know. Jamming a little with my bro here and there lor. But doesnt seem to be heading anywhere. Seems like most of the songs are gonna be scrapped. Seems like the band idea is gonna be scrapped too. Somehow The Casters just couldn't cut it. At least for me right now. Everyone seems disinterested, waiting for me to make a move. But i wouldn't care tt much anymore. Playing for them is so tiring...i'd just play for myself.

Been trying out a new experiment, tt is to not initiate a conversation with anyone on MSN and see if anyone will come and chat automatically. The truth hurts, cos no one bothers. So i shall not bother too. The experiment will continue until i feel the urge to talk again.

Tt's abt it. Yea i'm feeling lazy. So sorry for not updating. At least u care.

Yea finally the day has come. Jun 15th 2005. The day where the all the 21st Batch Divers will ORD.. Yea, so i went back yesterday morning, dressed smartly in my no.4 uniform and reported back to camp. Armed with my digicam (k this is not allowed... but WHO'S GONNA CHECK ME??), i went on a snapping spree. Got most of the guys' pics so tt i will not forget their faces. Nuff said...a picture tells a thousand words:

K so i went to camp, and it was raining heavily. What a day to start it off. Saw Yin Hao driving in with Jian Feng inside. So i took a ride into the camp :)

Xiao1 Jian4. Yea he's tt dude from Huan Zhu Ge Ge (My fair princess). Haha no la. Bullshit. Very nice guy. Another guy tt i have affinity with.


Ray & Bing Zhi. NJC basketball dudes too. Haha u must be wondering y the hell is there so many NJC bballers in my camp. I wonder too.


Wei Ye. From NJC too. (Another one?!) Going night cycling with him after i collect my ic. His i/c is on Friday. Pretty soon too. More on him later.

Daniel Soh. Has one of the most impressive taste of music i've ever seen. Doing duty with him was fun, cos he has the iPod. Until i got my own. Has lotsa funny ideas in his head. Never fails to make me laugh.


Tian Yong. This dude has convinced me tt 4D is buyable. Cos he struck 1st prize. Haha...whooping $19k. No kidding. He's still single and available.


Vishal aka "Ramesh". Made in India. All the way from Bombay (hey tt rhymes!) Haha. I think he owns half of India or wot sia. Gadget freak and a good listening ear everytime. Will miss u dude.


Sai Fong (left) & Yao Kun. One is SSC3's best PT. The other one is a smoke god. Go figure.


Chee Keong. The epitome of Ah Beng-ism. Prolific with the use of a megaphone to holler and sell stuff like during the Hungry Ghost Festival.


WeiZhi. Me and Louis crouched to compensate for his height. LOL. Easy going and very slack. Another Derek in the making.


Wong Rui Xing aka "WRX". How cool can u get when u are named after a hot car?


Ang. Drives a Kangoo to camp. Responsible for the ferrying of tired Plt 3 soldiers home after every duty.


HoMan. West Pier permanent duty guy. Can kick ur ass with his Hongkie accented Cantonese.


After photos with my mates, it's time to go collect the ic! But my stupid OC made us wait for 1 hr ++. Yea nvm we've got all the time in the world right now. LOL.

So after i collected my i/c..WeiYe and i went on a night cycling trip. It was quite an impromptu decision, cos we initially set the date at next friday. But since we were both free we decided to do it at night. Kinda rush in the fact tt my bike was not prepped up and stuff, but it was not a major issue.

20:00 - Wei Ye came over, to do some last minute preparation, and to discuss the routes to take. Not to mention to bring some CDs for me to rip!


21:30 - All set and ready to go!


Two stupid incidents happened before we set off for our trip. Firstly, we went to a nearby petrol kiosk to pump the tyres. But greedy WeiYe overdid it and burst one of his tyres! Haha and fortunately Xiang has a bike so we borrowed his and move off as usual. Halfway the ride to roughly the JE swimming complex, i suddenly couldn't get the bike moving. Something was wrong with the chain. Stopped and check, the chain was loose. But more stunning was, one of the small gears are the back of the gear system was missing! Basket, tt means i cannot pedal anymore!

So the loserly 2 of us walked the way back home, thinking tt it was the end. Called almost everyone living nearby but none of them could help. So the final number i thought of was Yilong. And he has a bike. And it's in good working condition!! *phew*. So we moved off again @ abt 23:00

00:00 - Within an hr we reached NUS. Damn tt was fast. Reached abit too early already.

We took a rest by the pyramid. This structure is quite fun to play with. Remembered coming here before with gal and we sat on top to chill together.


After finishing feeding the mosquitoes in West Coast Park. We decided to head home, intending to pass by Pandan Reservoir & RV. But along the way we found something extremely shocking!

THE SOURCE OF SAF'S HORRIFYING FOOD!! The actual mothership of it all. I've set a bomb here already dear soldiers. Dun worry it will be blown to pieces pretty soon!


After the harrowing experience, we hurriedly sped away from tt forsaken factory and reached Pandan Reservoir. The view is breathtaking man. Unfortunately this picture does not do it justice.


We decided to cycle around the reservoir once, but apparently the track was longer than expected. We did not expect it to be so big seriously haha. Also there werent any street lights lighting the path so we gave up halfway partly for safety reasons. It was stated 6km, it seemed longer than tt lor. Basket. Will attempt it again when i have a torch.

So we cycled home after tt and finally reached my hangout place:
