Gripe of the day: Y do ppl want to spend so much money to burn joss sticks and hell money at the expense of their own health and wealth? It's extremely ironic for me.

For the uninformed, I WAS working for the past 2 mths, and then i stopped, purely because they cut my internet. Quite pissed off ok, but with sheer tolerance, i manage to go without internet at work for a whole week. Pretty impressive by my standards. The pay wasn't good enough to make me suffer through the "no-internet-for-the-temps" office, the work given was too easy, and too quickly accomplished.

But overall it's ok, like the song "It's all abt the money" by "Murdered by Ska". Btw it's Lisa's bf's band. Quite interesting, but i have totally no idea how ska the song actually is. It still sounds punk. Anything tt sounds remotely punk and emo and whatever emocore screamo shall be labeled under punk by Chang. He has the final say for all the genres of the songs in his music library, which consists of 25GBs worth of downloaded + ripped from CDS mp3s.

I'm talking funny btw, cos i feel an incessant need to update my blog so that i know what's going on now the next time i read it.

The song "Into the storm" is SOMEWHAT complete. I've kinda finished writing the 2nd part, but somehow i just dun really like it. And i can't find a suitable bass line to go with it either. So it's still hanging in limbo. But at least i've gotten the main riff down, which is in a mindblowing 11/16 rhythm. Yes, 11/16. It's totally progressive rock this time, with intricate tempo changes, polyrhythms, odd time signatures... (insert really cool musical word here). I've really no idea how i came up with this shit, but yes it's gonna be a masterpiece, i feel. But at least i feel a "lvl up" to my compositional skills. Which is good.

So this few days up to the day my school starts, i'll be at home practising my guitar, try to get the song right, and hopefully it turns out really solid. But not a easy listening piece, cos it's so... WILD.

Btw, i'm really GAS-ing for this particular drum software. It's called BFD, or in other terms.. BIG FUCKING DRUMS. Yes it's really good. Really realistic drums, y... cos they mike up the actual drums and record it. Then u can trigger the sounds using midi. Brilliant i say. So u can select the brand of ur drum, the model of the mic, the position of the mic from the drum, the height from which the stick falls, the space of the room where the drum is.... everything is customizable. So customizable, that it's so scary to use. I dun think i'd even know where to begin. And it's so big, at least 5GB of space. I think i need a new hard disk...

Just saw Guan yday. Quite a pleasant surprise actually. Same old bass freak with tt John Myung pose. Solid playing still, and our ideas always connect. I have this special chemistry with this guy when it comes to music, and it's unexplainable. It's like we are always at the same level, neither one being too overpowering for the other, always exchanging licks and ideas. I like to work with him, but he's a busy man. Busy men have no time for music. So true.

Mostly progressive and virtuoso music. Not easy on the ears. But free your mind, and the music will get to you. I promise.

I've just realized the ghast inadequacies of sending u guys midi! The biggest problem is tt midi uses soundbanks inside our computer. What's a soundbank u might ask? Simply put it's a collection of instruments inside our computer. Midi is like a set of instruction, a musical score. It's not the music. It just tells the computer what to play, like instrument 1 pls play this and this, instrument 2 etc.

Now the problem arises when, instrument 1 on my computer refers to piano, but refers to drums on your computer. Can u imagine what a mess the midi will sound like? Then again this is a very extreme scenario. A more likely scenario would be that my instrument 1 refers to particular piano sound, and then urs another particular one. This results in the difference in touch, timbre and tone. Note i din not mention SOUND QUALITY, cos it's not the main concern at all.

Because of this difference, what seems to me like a beautiful blend of instruments, actually sounds like a mess of uncompatiable instruments to u. And that my frens, is not what i'd like you guys to suffer with.

3. Basic Instinct 2 - Doubtful abt this, but we can always fall back on the sex scenes. But Sharon Stone is 40 now. Hmm.
4. Lake House - Shld be a good sappy movie for me and my girl. Score points movie lar.
5. Road to Guantanamo - Heard good comments on this movie. Something political-ish, freedom-ish kinda movie. Brings out the anti-establishment sentiments in you. Shld be good.

I just caught "Thank You For Smoking" on Monday (and hence the nick on my MSN), and i'd say it's brilliant! Hella good dialogues tt keeps u cracking up. Incisive, venomous words coming out from the main guy, all in a bid to cover up the tobacco companies' ass. Really, THIS IS A MUST WATCH.

Btw, it's a small world in Singapore. So small tt it's scary. Christina, the girl tt wanted me to do recording for her, her bf is Shirui's NUS fren cum RV senior, and my bro's RV junior. Fucking small world la. Tt's y i say, dun do bad things in Singapore. U are so gonna get caught man.

And toking abt bad things.. here's Chang's theory on
"How to know if ur fren has had sex with his/her partner"
To understand this theory, first u have to understand the ways tt the information of u 2 having sex, can be leaked out.

1. Guys are fucking ego beings la. I havent seen one normal guy tt doesnt have the slightest bit of ego. So yea, if he's done it, most likely he's gonna flaunt it. And it's always the hottest topic when guys gather together for kopi/drinks. Yea something like discussing each other's exploits. This is especially true amongst the youngsters, for it's a sign of manliness. It's like "im a man now" thing for them. All the more they will flaunt it and exaggerate abit here and there to spice up the monotonous grinding motion.

2.Sometimes it can slip out of the guy's mouth like this:
Beng 1: "wah yday i bang my gf ar, damn shiok la. her p***y damn tight lar got feeling sia"
Beng 2: "tight good meh, i dun really like it leh"
Beng 1: "wah how u know? u bang ur gf liao ar.. heh heh basket"

3. Usually when girls congregate and talk abt sex together, it will always stay within tt "circle of trust"(tm). However sometimes these girls tend to talk to their bfs abt the other girls' exploits as well. And then guys, being guys, are usually untrustworthy when it comes to such kind of information. Easily leaked. Something like:
Beng 1: "Eh u all know (insert hot babe name here) already kena bang by her bf liao?"
Beng 2: " Wah lau wasted la! Lucky guy sia. How i wish it was me"
And then this fuels a whole night of discussion.

4. Sometimes "circle of trust"(tm) can be broken, and is usually by bitches, whom, like our gahmen likes to put it, has a personal agenda. When a big secret such as a "i had sex with John last night" is being told to a bitch, bitches will always tell their "circle of bitches" (tm). And tt's how it gets leaked. Big time.
So when information is leaked, it will quickly spread. Like wildfire. Cos it's juicy news, everyone wants to know it. And because it came direct from the guy/girl's mouth, it's substantiated and therefore true. Everyone wants to hear a true gossip. Not a lousy rumour.

Now after understanding how information can be leakedand spread, it's easy to see that, if a couple is doing it, most likely the news will spread pretty quickly and u'll know in a while. Without any effort at all. There's really no point speculating and snooping ard just for the juicy bits, cos if they din do it, they din do it and there's nothing to say. If they've done it, there's everything for the guy to say at least.

Rumours, are therefore powerful tools as we can see. But, it self-destructs as its, well a rumour. There's no solid substantiation compared to a truthful confession. Something like:

Beng 1: "Eh i think ah lian and ah guan are banging each other"
Beng 2: "How you know?"
Beng 1: "Dunno leh, hear from some where one"
Beng 2: "fuck u la"
vs
Beng 1: "Eh ah lian and ah guan are banging each other"

So guys, if u are reading this AND banging ur gf, pls use ur head (and i mean head, not dickhead) to think for once to protect ur girl's dignity la. No girls ever like other guys to how what colour bra they are wearing the other night, how big and juicy their breasts are and how tight their nether regions are.

I just had a basketball game with the kids. Umm ok they are technically not kids anymore, but they're like >3 yrs younger, yea so i refer to them as kids. The up and coming batch of Jurong West Ah Bengs la.

I'd say it's a very good game, i thoroughly enjoyed myself. And i showed Eldred the meaning of defense. Eldred is the latest basketball "protege" from our neighbourhood. He's a member of Tong Whye (one of the top teams in Singapore), and he really pwns the rest of his gang when it comes to basketball. Tall, fast, good agility and jump ability, he has everything to be the next big thing la.

Anyways so much so for being the next big thing, he still has some flaws. So i decided to mark him for once (and save the other kids the embarrassment). Of course i did it NUS-style (thanks coach) and contained him pretty easily. Soon his flaws showed up, he let up on his concentration and began to show frustration. Bad night for him.

But one thing i like abt him, is that he's willing to learn. He msn-ed me to discuss abt the match, and to try and stage a "rematch" with me. First time tt someone is willing to do that. I'm really impressed, so i pointed out his mistakes and gave him some things to take note of. How well he digests is his problem. I can only show u the door. You still have to walk thru it.

But at least, this time someone is willing to open the door.

I think this guy can go a long way.
