Sporadic random stuff that happened over the week:

Papercuts. I had 2, one on each thumb. What's the probability of tt happening? And neither bled. Murphy's Law at work. And the interesting thing is i dun even know how the came abt. I just felt tt my thumb had a burning sensation, and voila, a papercut there. Hmm.

My bro picked up an abandoned Kapok guitar weeks ago, and the nut was cracked. So i decided to try my hand at some D&T and attempted to change the nut. Amazingly, the old nut was glued strongly by some super glue shit. So i wasn't able to extract it out cleanly. It was more of a dig and scratch affair actually. After removing 90% of the old nut, there was this wallop of solid glue on the cavity with some residual plastic from the old nut. So i did some filing on the cavity, and i must say filing is quite fun for a first timer like me. Anyways, after all tt hassle, i realised my new nut couldn't fit into the slot. What a trip.

I finally had my well deserved BJ! Botak Jones u sick bastards! It was good, the double botak burger was really killer. The caesar's was awesome too. Damn good food for damn good price. And the service is top notch. Everyone knows i'm a sucker for service.

I realise tt when i buy things, if they are cheap and insignificant, usually i would not bother to check and measure precisely. I'd just buy and hope it's the one i'm looking for. So far there's 3 objects tt i bought tt belongs to this category: the new nut that is too small for the slot, a foot stool tt i intend to use when playing guitar which was way too short, and a Ikea cd pouch which was really.. Ikea. I think this is an extremely bad habit of mine. So my dear girl, pls stop me next time! Unless i got the measurements right.

Caught Memento (finally) and Scoop (finally too). One's a great film with interesting plot twists, and another one is a film with a girl with great assets. Oh yea and i caught both Ocean's too, though Twelve was kinda weaker compared to Eleven. Nonetheless it sets up Thirteen i believe. Gonna catch it this week.

Self-made banana split is actually quite nice. Especially if u buy those small bananas tt taste alittle sweeter. The only drawback is the limited variety of ice-cream, in fact, u can't really have much variety in ur ice-cream unless u buy 3 different flavours. Or else u are pretty much stuck with whatever u bought. Well it's still good, keeps the missus happy.

Been catching up abit on my guitar lately. Right now i'm kinda back to the level where i was last time, which was to be able to play "Into the Storm". Yea, if i can play tt song, i can play any of my other songs. It's like the benchmark of my ability. Until i write a more technically complex one.

The sole of my favourite pair of sneakers came off. Cleanly. Brought it to the local cobbler (almost forgot this word) and he told me he can't fix it. It's interesting, cos i tot it needed was just some good ol yellow drug-addict glue. Maybe i shld go back to hall and approach the raggers to ask for some dope. Any idea if we can buy yellow glue off the shelves?

Random rant: I dun understand how some people can post so many entries in one day! It's like they spend their whole day in front of the computer chronicling their lives, which just involves sitting in front of the computer the whole day. Weird.

I've been dreaming about work stuff lately. It's disturbing, cos i love my job. Do u dream of stuff becos u love it? Cos i dun really dream about Shirui, my guitar and basketball. It's always random stuff. This is serious shit.

I'm getting a case of back-ache, which i attribute it to my poor sitting posture at work, as well as the poor support in my work shoes. And so my poor guitar-ing posture, which is why i'm kinda converting to the classical playing position. Not tt i feel the difference in playing technique, but it's easier on my back. And most pros are doing it too. So it must be good somehow. Hopefully it really does improve my technique. Then i can dominate the world with my AWESOME guitar-ing m4dskillz.

Ok side tracked. Time to go.

Sometimes in life, we just have to learn how to handle the situations in a smart effective way. In army, we call this "smoke". Either u lie ur way out, albeit in an intelligent manner, or u just evade the question, or u leave the scene tactically. "Smoking" has saved many asses in the army over it's long glorious history. I believe it works just as effective in the real world itself.

Sorry there's not much golden wisdom here. I'm learning as i go along. I figured it would be a long and hard journey. But as i've mentioned in the previous post, I can be quite convincing at times. Tt has probably worked to my advantage for many situations already. I hope it can bail me out in the future too.

And and and, for the seriously misinformed friends out there, pls do not ask me how's my band doing. COS THERE IS NO BAND! Get this into ur freaking thick skulls! Hah i liked tt one. Yea it's irritating for pple to have this pre-conceived notion tt u are in a band if u play guitar/drums/bass. I wrote/programmed/recorded all the songs MYSELF. So credit is all me, cos there's no one else to give to.

I bought a pro-looking Jim Dunlop Capo today for my acoustic. So now i'm a pro-looking acoustic player with a pro-looking acoustic guitar and a pro-looking acoustic capo tt's gonna give me some pro-sounding tones. Yes. I'm so pro!

Roar. Anyways today was a madness day. In short, a trip to Pulau Ubin ended up to be a shopping trip in Tampines mall and Peninsula shopping centre, and dinner at Ichiban Boshi. I think there's some conspiracy behind this madness. I strongly feel so.

Hmm.

To JT: Yea, it's quite shitty. And tomolo is the start of a new week of zzz-ing feelings. And regarding the Fs, it's just the F keys on ur keyboard. Dun think too much.

I'm currently into the transcribing phase of my guitar playing life. So far i have just transcribed 5 songs. All chinese pop, cos the chord progressions are much easier to catch. The only tricky thing is the key they are in, which leads to the frequent use of the capo. Probably i'd need to invest those giant kiap kiap kinds. Mine's like a little restraining piece tt u tie around the neck, kinda like what the drug addicts do when they need a jab on the arm. Madness, guitar and drugs, so closely related!

Anyway's here's the list of songs i've transcribed (and i think they are pretty close to the real thing though it's just pure chords):

The song choices are based on Shirui's preferences. Either she likes to sing tt song, or she likes tt song. So yea, if u need the chords to those songs u can just drop a note here and i will send u.

Notice tt the artist names are in english, while the song names are in chinese. Well it's just a quirky habit i have, to enable me to find the song faster. The issue here is tt Windows doesnt arrange chinese words in "alphabetical" order, not tt they have any to start with. So yea, it's quite a hassle to find chinese songs. So now at least i can search the artist name quickly, and get to the song faster. Yea it works this way for me.

It's actually fun to transcribe chinese songs. They have quite interesting progressions sometimes. It's not always the canon progression, though it's like 50% of the time. Sometimes u get real interesting ones like the Sandy Lam song. Quite a good way to learn how to write a pop tune.

Probably Shirui and I can be a guitar-singer combo and raid all chinese music pubs nxt time. Watch this space.

I'm working right now, so i'm like falling into this shit-ass-loser cycle. Wake up at 7, go to work, knock off, reach home at 7 feeling shit-ass tired. Doze off before 12. Actually, i already feel tired enough to sleep at 8. Serious. But yea it's like so loser to sleep so early, so i shall try to fight this fatigue and get more hours out of my day instead of sleeping every thing away.

Work is ok. The office environment is pretty good. My supervisors are nice, and very patient with them. The only 2 problems is 1) No internet and 2) the software tt i'm supposed to use is so bloody prehistoric.

Yea it's amazing how an MNC can be using something so unintuitive and inefficient program to do their work. Essentially the layout is like the BIOS mode. Black screen, and pure green words. F1-12 to access anything. There's no GUI (Graphic user interface) like a Microsoft Word, so everything has to be F-ed. And the freaking problem abt this problem is tt the menu system is like a tree branch system. So u've F-ed ur away far out to one end of the branch. To get to another branch, u gotta F ur way back to home base, and F some more to the desired location.

To tell you the truth, i'm actually getting the hang of this F-ing.

I caught this movie recently and i would like to share with all of you. It's called Idiocracy, and it was listed as one of the top 25 movies u never knew, or something like tt. The basic premise of this movie is tt the whole world has gone dumb. And the main reason for this dumbing of the world is very well-explained in the movie.

Intelligent couple: Family planning, contraceptives, work stress, wanna have kids later in their lives. When they really want to have kids, the husband is kinda impotent. And then he died. And the wife has some frozen eggs waiting to be F-ed. End result: the family line dies.

Stupid couple: Screw all day, have many kids, screw the neighbour's wife, have more kids. More wives, more kids. Ur kid grows up, be a college football star, screw more cheerleaders. The family tree expands and expands like a drug empire.

Given the fact tt there are really many stupid people in the world, the rate they are reproducing is like 5 times faster than the intellectuals? And u get some stupid genes mixed up with the smart ones, kinda like taint the intelligence pool. End result: the slow and eventual dumbing of the society.

I kinda believe it's quite a possible scenario. Just like Russell Peters said in one of his shows: The 2 world's largest populations are in China and India. U can run for now, but we are gonna screw u eventually. So in 100 years, every one is gonna be a mix of Chinese and/or Indian.

I dun see why this doesn't apply to stupidity as well.
