So orientation is finally over. After 2 weeks of mad rushing and shouting, it's has come to an end. A disappointing one actually, cos Temasek Hall lost everything during Rag & Flag day. Quite sad to see that almost every senior and girl was crying and such. Could really see how much rag means to them.

Seriously speaking, our float looks damn solid lar. But the first day i saw it i knew we are not gonna win. Why? Cos, the theme for this yr is "Reflections, A Palette of Colours" or smthing like tt. Seeing tt, do u think our float is colourful enuff? Nah, lose 1 pt already. Also, this yr is the Centennial Celebrations for NUS, supposed to be a happy occasion. Our float? Looks damn grim and fierce la. Minus pt again.
One thing to note: for this yr, most of the halls have moved away from the "build a monstrous creature" float concept, and have adopted a different concept in their floats. Like the winning Sheare's float which was abt clowns and jokers, and it's all made from paper mache and stuff. Colourful and happy, which is the formula for this yr. Apparently TH has to continue with their legacy of 4 consecutive wins for the past 4 yrs, so more or less they could not avoid building another monster for the float. Which is the wrong way to go.
IF, and it's a big if, that all the other halls still stick to the old "build a monster" float idea, we'll definitely beat them. But sad to say, this yr we lost it, so just have to suck it up. And hey, i feel the pinch too, after all i've cut at least 1000 cans, which amounts to 2000 pieces of cladding on the float. And the logistics of moving all the crap from hall to the stadium, i was there all thru the night till the next afternoon. Am i sad? Definitely, after all the effort that i put in. But, sometimes, we just have to lose. Tho i've never won much in my life either. Oh well.
Anyways, i guess it's a good experience to be in, to work on such a large scale project. To see how everyone is aiming for the same goal, rushing overnight to finish it on time, helping out immediately whenever help is needed. Hall spirit i guess. It's extremely strong in here, so strong that even a bochup guy like me can't really avoid it. Hmm.
Sch started today, and i have to say i'm not really ready for the stupid system tt's in store for me. Tutorials which i'm supposed to do, have to be found in textbooks which i'm supposed to buy. Why not just give me the questions directly and save me the trouble and MONEY? I'm really broke, and NUS is slowly chomping it's way into my bank acct, asking me to pay for notes which i can either buy or print, textbooks which i'm not sure if i need, and other miscellaneous stuff. MY PARENTS PAY U 5K A SEMESTER TO GIVE ME AN EDUCATION, AND I STILL HAVE TO DO ADMIN STUFF MYSELF!!! Sorry, but i'm still spoon fed. Guess i'll get over it pretty soon. I hope.
Coughing real badly. Need sleep. Willy Wonka tml morning with my favourite gal. Woo. *jump*
