5 straight hours in the band room. 3 for PA and 2 for band. Lotsa new stuff learnt.
Did my first ever "professional" live recording using the O1V. (Yeying, what's O1V? *snigger*)
Shure SM58 is a darn good mike. Clarity and good response. Brings out the voice in you.
Linda has a fantastic voice. Alittle mesmerizing as she sings.
David is a god in guitar. No tabs, all by ear. And his fingerstyle is wicked. Just when i tot Joel has the weirdest chords, this guy beats him flat out. Nice feel, knows what he wants to play and how to play. 1 take and he nailed the song outright. Perfect, note for note. Straight out from his ear.
How i wish i can play like David. Tho he can't touch me in lead, but i feel his style is better. Straight out crowd pleaser. Like Guo an. Like Joel.
Getting alittle aimless in my guitar. Dun see the point of practising all those mundane finger exercises, yet find simple songs too simple. No inspiration for songs at the moment. Probably will try out David's way of approaching a song. Shall start with Shi Jie Mo Ri then.
Still slightly confused with the workings of the mixer still. Too many buttons and functions. Do it slow still can, rush me and i'll start to panic. Adobe audition is no kick to me. Easy stuff. Impressed the seniors alittle with my editing skills tho haha. Maybe i shld be the chief editor or smthing, but then i only like to edit the songs tt i like. So u pple better sing well if u want to get listened by me. Wahaha.
Today's jam is ok, but some pple can see tt they nv practise the song much la. No feel also. Sian. Hate to jam when everyone's bochup abt it. Introduced the "intro" concept to them tho. Kinda like a introductory jam before we start playing any songs. U know like... "Let's welcome (insert our band name here)!!!" then we'll play the intro to get the attention of the pple. Something like tt. Watch the performance and u'll know :)
Good night.
