Just came back from the TH Alumni Night gig. My band, Zero Hero (yea kinda lame but yea... it works) was up first and we did tt intro thingy i mentioned a few posts ago. Think it kinda shocked half of the audience and managed to get their attention. Which was good. We started off with Stand By Me by Oasis. Pretty strong start, but we slipped up pretty badly during the bridge section. Dunno if the crowd noticed, but i sure did. Big time, but heh we managed to scramble back to the chorus. It was good until tt glaring error, but after tt we ended off well. So umm, hope we dun cock up again hahaha.
Next up was Don't Look Back In Anger..also by Oasis. (Wonder y we played 2 oasis songs? haha). Personally i feel this song was done much better, cos no slip ups. Tho i played a few wrong notes here and there it wasn't off notes at all. So pretty much covered up, and during the solo i did a little gimmick with Yiming which got the crowd going mad. Or so i thought. But whatever the case it was more fun, and definitely less tense compared to Stand By Me.
Third song was done with Xinyao and we played Shi Jie Mo Ri by Jay Chou. Pretty ok, tot i would forget the chords but i din. Haha, quite heng right there. Ailing is good as usual, and Xin Jin sang pretty well. The crowd was very appreciative of his singing.
Overall i feel today's performance was ok. Can be done better seriously. But one problem i realised is that pple dun know their songs well. Seriously speaking i can play the entire song without any backing la, but the others cant really do tt. And tt will cause u to screw up during a gig cos u'll be at a loss as to where the song is. Esp for drummers, sometimes u jsut cannot hear the rest of the band so this is the only way to keep it tight.
Sigh, but say how many times also no use one lar. Some pple just wun listen.
