Watched Superband last night. It makes me wonder y Chan Min's band din not get in. Technically superior: Chan Min shreds and plays a mean funk rhythm, his vocalist sounds EXACTLY like Aaron Kwok, the bassist's slap technique is so good tt it got a person like Xiang to sit up and listen, and the drummer is 100x better than Xiang.

So, what went wrong? Reason being: They look fugly

Anyways, most of the bands are... decent. But a few stand out as outright crap la. Like SkyPower... Kung Fu Pop? They can't even backflip decently la. Can't sing, can't kungfu, can't dance, look fugly too. I pity Chan Min.

Another one is tt grp tt sang tt Wuha song. Can it be even counted as a song? No looks, no rap, no voice, nothing. Out.

Lucify, a NUS jrock band started the show, but they got a totally crap mix by the soundman. Super suay. But tt doesnt spare them from criticism, cos they are really not close to good as compared to the other bands. Not tight, guitarist dunno what he's playing, dress jrock but play chinese "punk" ala Mayday. Nah.. out.

Rest of the crap include: Defuse (Beyond's songs shld be sung in CANTO, not chinese), G-Force (look good, but totally can't sing. What the hell la.) Man Tou (No style, sucky arrangement).

Really good ones i feel:

1. Brods: They pulled off the Power Station song perfectly. Perfect harmony, and their set looked like they were superstars from Taiwan. Star power.
2. Shi No Bi: Linkin Park style, tho i dunno what tt red construction worker guy is singing, they hyped up their set pretty well. Solid bassist, cos the camera man keep shooting him.
3. Jade & Amber: Cos one has a cool keyboardist and the other has a cool effects pressing guy.
4. RustyNailz: Cos they are from S.O.F.T.

I have no idea y the acapella grps got in at all. Does Mediacorp REALLY want to market a acapella grp?

Exams are coming, and i need to starting studying. And thus i shall stop ranting, and get my butt moving. (tt rhymes. I shld be a uh uh hip hopper)
