Did close to nothing today. Like Joseph said, "organidling". It's a disease that's gonna kill you.
Well at least the data mining proj is closed to settled. 1 less thing to worry about.
7 more days to first paper.
Guitar Update: Lesson 26: Playing along 1 string
The last lesson is finally here. I've reached the end of the book. Sad to say the solo today wasn't very fun. First it's hard to transpose along 1 string, cos the solo spans 2 octaves, but i've only got 21 frets. So certain keys is kinda hard to play. 2ndly i'm lazy lar.
Some interesting ideas in the solo though, that almost every note is bendable. Or at least bending makes the "linear" soloing more interesting. It's easy to fall into the trap of playing small intervals too, which makes the solo sound v chinese. Have to really try the big jumps to see the difference.
Again, the scale can be broken up into 2 parts of the same shape, so it makes remembering easier. Probably during the holidays i'll start putting up some "lessons" to illustrate my point.
Breaking up the scale also allows one to play the scale somewhat differently, like the sliding shape style. It's a wider stretch tho, but it's something different la. Different approaches allows different things to be done.
I hate playing along one string, unless there's some interesting licks. Like "Birds and the Beez". Tt's probably the only one string lick i ever had. And of course all the lame tapping shit in other solos. Pfft.
Oh well good night.
