Guitar Update: Lesson 10: The E form
I've reached so called section 2 of the book, so there's no more technique study, and more study on the scale positions of the minor pentatonic. Today it's the root position, or as they call it the E form. I dun really see the scale this way, and i also dun remember it this way because it's already so ingrained in me. Maybe the other shapes will be alittle more informative.
It's another solo fixed in root position. Plenty of tricky 1st string full bends. I really hate those and they sound v brittle to me. One thing is due to the setup of my pickups. I think i shld realign the pickups somehow. The 3rd string's too loud and the 1st string is too soft. Not balanced at all.
And again, it gets harder as i play towards the nut. Probably tml i'll skip 1 lesson and just totally focus on honing in the bending vibrato technique near the nut. Learning 1 solo a day is also quite taxing i guess. We'll see how eh. I've got a test coming up nxt week too. Hmm.
The licks are fairly uncommon, but they play very smoothly. No incidents where the fingers block or hinder each other (you get that fairly often in neo-classical licks). It has a nice little funky blues groove to it as well, which makes it pretty fun to jam to.
K tt's abt it for today. I'm really tired. Couldn't focus well just now either. Shall take another shot at the solo tml.
