To Shirui: *bite*
Finally finished the drum and bass track! Probably gonna tweak alittle tml, but generally it's good to go. Finished the lyrics as well! Today's gotta be a damn musically productive day. As far as i know, the song will end up to be >5mins. For a ballady pop song, i think tt's abit too much, but i'll just stick to it so tt i can display my vocal powers this time. And it's still like shit. Aha.
I discovered a very good way to write lyrics today. It's what i call, "Read-writing". Because lyrical writing, to me at least, involves key words tt you try to form a phrase with. So what i did was to fire up an article tt Chao sent me called "Strength Finder", and just started skimming/reading it. Soon enough i began to see some words that i think is usable and try to fit into the lyrics. So i was pretty much alt-tabbing between the article and my lyrics, editing them as i read along.
And tt helped me finish up the lyrics pretty quickly. Like 2 hrs?
Essentially the lyrics are still quite cheesy i guess. But it's good enough for now.
Now the next tough part: Think of the "production" side of the song. Like where to lay distorted guitars, strings, harmony, funny sounds perhaps. Yea havent really fleshed them out cos i was just strumming along all this while. Wasn't thinking so far this time round especially with the shitass structure.
Chao had a first hand live listen with the midi backing and my live sing/strum. I think he likes it somehow. But of course my singing had to improve, especially the verse parts. He's right, it's not 放 enough. Must let my emotions out. Try my best ok?
I like singing. But only if there's no one around. At least i'm considerate.
Just caught 21. Quite an interesting film, as in it gives a brief insight into the card-counting world. Story-wise is so so, but Kate Bosworth makes for sufficient eye candy. Worth a watch.
Card-counting can be easy on paper, but it requires extreme practice. Because only with perfection can you beat the banker. Can always try, but i think most people will give up pretty quickly. Imagine the algorithm is worse than a rubik's cube?
Today's a rest my knees day. Rainy too. Thanks Jesus for giving me a break somehow. But pls dun be constipated tml. I need to have my runs (pun intended).
I'm nv a pun guy. Dan's the pun guy.
Night.
