I almost wanted to put a guitar tuner widget on my blog courtesy of Howtotuneaguitar.org, but ended up deciding that my side bar is just too cluttered with my playlist, tagboard and many other junk.
Got rid of Adobe Reader finally, and replaced it with Foxit Reader. Faster, more functional, less annoying, and smaller in size.
Thanks to Louis for his botak treat in return for my services for Science of Music. My midi's just kickass lar, admit it!
During the dinner, we talked abt the games we used to play, which led to me downloading Shining Soul and Advance Wars. Those were the games tt got me through duty in NS. Good stuff for collection, never know when i might have time to burn. Like during exams ^^.
Dun worry, i'll put it in a very inconvenient location on my com so tt it's a hassle to locate it and play, and therefore serves as a possible deterence to play. But of course we all know it's futile. Muahahaha.
Got the new version of GP5, 5.2 to be precise. Seems like they really hyped up the RSE shit, which to me sounds totally crap and useless. At least now the installer is broken up into it's parts, so i can safely ignore the RSE sounds this time. And it seems like they've added more mixing components to help you create the "ultimate midi". Pls, just use some VSTi. It's SO much better. Like 100 times better? Realistic sounds versus real sounds, cmon, it's easy to choose.
I'm thinking of rearranging my room, but i found it to be achievable but impractical eventually, so i scrapped the idea. Now i'm thinking of rearranging my table somewhat, cos it's getting too cluttered for my liking. Clear the space for the sem as well. And i wanna shift my power plugs and my printer abit to more accessible locations. Sucks to always have to walk ard my table to check whether the notes print, then walk back and check the com. Totally retarded.
Johnson's complex song is kinda nice. Depapepe-ish. Imitation is the best form of flattery. It takes quite a bit of skill to copy too u know. Like copy 90%, so tt it's there but not there, but u can't say it's not there. Haha.
I like the mixing as well, more balanced i guess. Reverb really makes something fade into the background more. Something to take note.
Still working on the drum track. Abit more than yday. I realised the many ways i can expand the song now. With more song parts, comes more ways to arrange the song, though it would be more preferable to adhere to certain conventions like verse chorus verse, instead of something more radical like bridge verse, solo, prechorus, solo 2, chorus. I dunno lar, just shooting something random.
Here's a teaser of what the final song structure will be like:
(to be frank, this is the first time i wrote something so structurally complex)
Intro
Verse 1 soft
Verse 1 loud
Chorus
Verse 2
Prechorus
Chorus
Bridge
Solo 1
Interlude( or whatever, Bridge 2)
Vocal Solo + Solo 2 perhaps
Chorus
Outro
Something like tt. Though chords might be repetitive for some parts, the stuff tt's going underneath is abit more complex, so umm, watch out for it!
Workout Log:
6.5km Run
10 Sets of:
-1:15 Plank with ball
-10 Trunk twists
-10 Deadlifts
-10 Side bends
