I wanted to read Slam Dunk again (the comic) . So i did what a normal cheapskate would do, try to find it online. The site i have din really have very good scans of the comic, so it's quite hard to read and therefore enjoy. So i did what a normal person would do again, ask friends for web-comic sites:

Normal friend:

Chang: do you know of any webcomic sites?

Louis: Yes. *gives link* (the site ended up being unable to load)

Abnormal friend:

Chang: do you know of any webcomic sites?

Gink: What kind do u want?

Chang: I want to read Slam Dunk online.

Gink: Slam Dunk online is not called webcomic. Slam Dunk is a MANGA, so the online version is not webcomic. Webcomic is something else. *proceeds to give a wiki link of the definition of webcomic*

*heated debate ensues*

Ok, i dun understand what's so hard to understand abt the word webcomic. According to the definition in Wiki (which Gink so staunchly stands by) : "Webcomics, also known as online comics and web comics, are comics that are available to read on the Internet. Many are exclusively published online, while some are published in print but maintain a web archive for either commercial or artistic reasons."

To Gink, Slam Dunk is not a comic, and thus do not qualify to be a webcomic. By him, he says it's a MANGA. So let's use mathematical proof to show that Slam Dunk online is a webcomic and therefore proving that he's making a big hooha out of nothing and therefore further showing tt he's an big idiot trying to mess with me.

Proof as follows:

Slam Dunk is a MANGA. So Slam Dunk is an element of the set Manga.

Manga is the direct Japanese translation from the Chinese word Man4-Hua4.

So Manga = Man4-Hua4 (A)

From Chinese to English, Man4-Hua4 = Comic (B).

So from (A) and (B), Manga = Comic.

So Slam Dunk is an element of the set Comic. So Slam Dunk is a Comic. (C)

From wiki definition: Webcomics is also known as Online Comics.

Therefore Webcomics = Online Comics. (D)

By (C), Online Slam Dunk is an element of the set Online Comics. So Online Slam Dunk is an Online Comic.

Since Online Slam Dunk is an Online Comic, by (D), Online Slam Dunk is a Webcomic.

Seriously, if one has to differentiate webcomic and online Manga, one has to really really get a life. Sometimes, it's cool to believe in something staunchly. But but but, u have to see what u are believing in!!
