4 things to unlearn from school if you want to succeed
I would say that I'm very book smart. But over the years, I've realised the points stated in the article to be true. Indeed there's no correct answer, there's only the best feasible answer. Taking initiative definitely gets you ahead, but also largely depends on your company culture.

I think learning programming and optimisation helped frame my mind to understand that there are possibilities in life, and there are many routes one can take. So the game has pretty much changed: It's not about surviving in this world anymore, it's about surviving efficiently in this world.

If you are efficient, you don't need much.

The Child, the Tablet and the Developing Mind

Many parents do this nowadays. And in fact, at a recent gathering, most people in the group were obsessed over their phone. I realised this problem a while back, so now i try my best not to use my device whenever i'm out with someone. I think it's fair that if someone is willing to spend some time with me, then the least i could do is to respect him/her and give him/her my full attention.

Wonder how hard is it to get the kids to sit quietly and not make a fuss.

The Proper Way to Lock Your Bicycle

So much wisdom in bike locking. Note: not a bike rider, but useful information nonetheless.

The Price of Wine

Exactly how i feel about wine. Unnecessary to pay extra, since the cheapest wine tastes the same as the expensive ones. But the mind is a powerful thing i must say, just have to keep convincing myself that the $10 dollar bottle im buying is vintage.

If you don't ask, you don't get. So I am asking.

An interesting level of positivity. Think it takes a certain mindset to approach life this way.
